Dancing Through Difficult Times

In this current position that we find ourselves in, dancing is more important than ever.

We have all had our routines turned upside down and are finding ourselves searching for some sense of normalcy. As dancers and parents or supporters of dance we must hold onto what gives us purpose and allows us to express ourselves. We have all begun our online classes and are navigating our way through this new way of doing things. The most important thing to remember is that while change can be scary it is necessary to move forward. As dancers we all know this as it is the very foundation of our art form.

If you are someone that has been struggling with this new system let me encourage you to give it a try. To our parents, we know you have so much going on right now and being there for your family is priority. Our hope is that dance may be a way to do just that. We will get back to our studios eventually but in the meantime we need more than ever to keep moving, not only for our physical health but for our mental health as well. Start with one class and see how you feel after, I believe you will find yourself wanting more.

Reach out to your teachers or fellow dancers. We are people who find our greatest peace in movement so this has hit us especially hard but knowing you are not alone will help. Talk it out, dance it out and you will be ready for that amazing day we are all awaiting when we get back to our studio.
